ZEPPELIN SIGNED POSTCARD PHOTOGRAPH OF HIS “LUFTSCHIFF”  [AIR-SHIP]

ZEPPELIN, FERDINAND VON.   (1838 –1917).  German general and inventor of the Zeppelin rigid airships, founded the company Luftschiffbau Zeppelin;  acted as an observer for the Union Army of the Potomac in the American Civil War (1863) where his interest in balloons developed under Thaddeus S.C. Lowe.  Surprisingly Scarce Signed Postcard image of: “Zeppelin’s Luftschiff, Modell 4 1908” airship.  Boldly signed “ Zeppelin ” on the photographic surface under the airship on the lower left side.

EXCEPIONALLY RARE SIGNED IMAGE OF SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL ON HORSEBACK

CHURCHILL, SIR WINSTON S.  (1874-1965).  British politician and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1940-1945, 1951-1955).  Exceedingly-rare Promotional card-board cut-out photo-image, issued by: “The Association of Conservative Clubs, Ltd.” for the year 1950, boldly Signed by him: “Winston S. Churchill”, in ink, under his image.

LINCOLN, ABRAHAM.  (1809-1865).  Sixteenth President of the United States (1861-1865).  Superb and extremely rare engraved Portrait Signed,  “A. Lincoln”,  on his way to his inauguration in 1861.  Lincoln is depicted in a full-faced bust pose, beardless. 

PRESIDENT WARREN G. HARDING’S FIRST CABINET MEETING IN 1921

AN IMAGE OF PURE PRESIDENTIAL AND GOVERMENTAL POWER, BEARING THE SIGNATURES OF WHAT WERE TO BE THREE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, AND A FUTURE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE US SUPREME COURT

HARDING, WARREN G.  (1865-1923).  Twenty-ninth President of the United States (1921-1923); died in office, resulting in Calvin Coolidge becoming the 30^th President.  An impressive photograph depicting President Warren G, Harding’s first cabinet meeting in March of 1921.  Boldly signed by him and eleven of his cabinet members, two of which were to become future Presidents, and one who was to become the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court.  The men are depicted sitting around a conference table in the White House, and each has signed beneath his image.

EDISON, THOMAS A.  (1847-1931). American inventor of the phonograph and the light bulb.   Very rare, superb, imperial cabinet Photograph Signed and inscribed:  “To my friend Lieb / from Thomas A. Edison, / Orange NJ  USA Oct. 29, 1891.”  Huge 7 ¼ ‘ x 11 ¾’ inches, [image size].  Mounted to a slightly larger original photographer’s mount [7 1/2 x 12 inches].

IBSEN  — RARELY SEEN, CABINET PHOTOGRAPH SIGNED  —  THE NYBLIN STUDIO

IBSEN, HENRIK.  (1828-1906)  Norwegian playwright, director, and poet;  Ibsen is viewed as one of the founders of Modernism in theater.   Rarely seen, Cabinet Photograph Signed, “Henrik Ibsen / 27.12.97”.

JAMES A. GARFIELD — AN IMPRESSIVE IMPERIAL CABINET PHOTOGRAPH

GARFIELD, JAMES (1831-1881)   20^th President of the United States; assassinated by Charles Guiteau, died September 19, 1881.   A magnificent and large Imperial Cabinet Photograph, depicting Garfield in a ¾ length pose, 1/2 profile – facing left, wearing a long suit coat, with his right hand positioned behind his back.  7 ½ x 13 inches overall.
