Scarce Partly-printed “Faneuil-Hall LOTTERY, No. Five” ticket, boldly signed “John Hancock”, at the lower center right.

CHENNAULT, CLAIRE LEE. (1890-1958). American Army officer; best known for his leadership of the “Flying Tigers” and the Republic of China Air Force in World War II. Typed Letter Signed, “C.L. Chennault”, on his name-imprinted “The Orient’s Own” CAT Civil Air Transport letterhead. One page, quarto. Taipei, Taiwan, February 24, 1953.

ZEPPELIN, FERDINAND VON. (1838 –1917). German general and inventor of the Zeppelin rigid airships, founded the company Luftschiffbau Zeppelin; acted as an observer for the Union Army of the Potomac in the American Civil War (1863) where his interest in balloons developed under Thaddeus S.C. Lowe. Surprisingly Scarce Signed Postcard image of: “Zeppelin’s Luftschiff, Modell 4 1908” airship. Boldly signed “ Zeppelin ” on the photographic surface under the airship on the lower left side.

To Lord Robert Cecil, inquiring of him privately if he is interested in the Governorship of British East Africa, now Kenya.
