“I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED THE LIBRETTO…”
SULLIVAN, ARTHUR (1842-1900) English composer best know for his work with librettist W.S. Gilbert. Manuscript Letter Signed, “Arthur Sullivan,” on 1 Queen’s Mansions, Victoria Street S.W. stationery. One page, octavo. London. October 14, 1894. Sullivan writes to: V. Langammer, Esq:
“Dear Sir, I have not yet received the libretto which you say you have kindly forwarded to me. I merely write this to let you know in case it was miscarried. I am very busy with new works at present, and therefore could not undertake anything fresh for some time, but I should not like your manuscript to be lost. Yours very truly Arthur Sullivan.”
Nice music related content, and a fine example for display.
