GEORGE V.  (1865-1936).  King of the United Kingdom and Emperor of India (1910-36).  Autograph Letter Signed, “George R.I.”, on crested and imprinted Buckingham Palace stationery.  Two pages [front and back], octavo.  London, June 27, 1925.  Excellent condition.  To “My dear Edith” [Edith Amelia Ward, C.B.E. (1872-1956).  Lady Wolverton, after her marriage in 1895].  George writes: “How kind of you to send me two of those charming electric lamps, like the ones I admired in your house at Newmarket.  I thank you so much for your kind thought.  I am looking forward to seeing you at Newmarket next week and I hope you will allow me to dine with you on Wednesday night as usual.  I trust it may be warmer by then.  I am rather tired as I have had so much to do lately.  Believe me very sincerely yours, George R.I.”
