RUDOLPH FRIML — SENDS A LETTER OF THANKS AND INCORPORATES A MUSICAL QUOTATION FROM “INDIAN LOVE SONG”

FRIML, RUDOLPH.  (1879-1972)   Czech-born pianist and composer of operettas, musicals, songs and piano pieces;  known for his light operas; The Firefly, Rose Marie.   Typed Letter Signed, “Rudolf Friml”, on his name imprinted stationery, and incorporating an Autograph Musical Quotation from his “Indian Love Song”.  One page, quarto.  Los Angeles, California, October 12, 1971.  To John Fleming.  Friml writes: “Thank you very much for your letter  of September 25th and your interest in me and my music.  Per your request, I am happy to include below a few bars from ‘Indian Love Call’.  Again — many thanks for your kind consideration.  Sincerely, Rudolf Friml”.  Under his boldly written signature, Friml has penned 2 bars of music from his “Indian Love Call”.
