THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON ASKS TO MEET HIS NEPHEW IN PICADILLY 

WELLESLEY, ARTHUR, 1ST DUKE OF WELLINGTON. (1769-1852). British soldier and statesman; Prime Minister (1828-1830) Autograph Letter Signed “W”,  as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.  One page, octavo.  London, April 4, 1835.  His red wax royal seal impressed at lower corner of page.  To his nephew-in-law, Sir Charles Bagot, English diplomat, colonial administrator and later Governor General of the Province of Canada (1841-1843).   Very fine condition.  Wellington writes:  My dear Bagot, Could you call upon me in Piccadilly at about seven o’clock this afternoon, Every yours – W. — The Most Honorable Sir Charles Bagot.”
