FARADAY, MICHAEL (1791-1867)  English chemist and physicist; know for his contributions to the fields of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. Attractive Autograph Letter Signed, “M. Faraday”.   One page, octavo. “Royal Institution”, 8 February 1841.   In extremely fine condition.  Faraday writes to “S. Hall, Esq.”

“Dear Sir, I am very much indebted to you for the copy of your letter to Mr. Murray, which I shall read with great pleasure.  The other copy shall go to the Library today.  Ever your obdt servant, M. Faraday.”

A fine, one page example from this important scientist of the 19th century, for whom the unit of electrical capacitance, the ‘Farad” is named.
