BARRIE, SIR J[AMES] M[ATTHEW].  (1860-1937).  Scottish dramatist and novelist[ Creator of Peter Pan.  Partly-Printed Check Signed, “J.M. Barrie”, drawn on Barclay & Company Limited Bank.  London, July 11, 1908.  Ornate lavender titleplate identifying it as Barclay, Beban, Tritton, Ransom, Bomberie & Co. at left.  Imprinted oval one penny orange revenue stamp at right margin. Made payable to “Dr. Arthur Buran” in the amount of 4 Pounds, 4 Shillings.  Boldly signed by Barrie at lower right-hand corner. Manuscript cancellations slightly affecting his signature, otherwise excellent condition.
