ANDERSEN, HANS CHRISTIAN. (1805-1875) Danish author best remembered for his literary fairy tales. His Signature “H.C. Andersen” Boldly penned at the head of an autograph poem entitled: “To Thorwaldensen on his admission to the student union” and written [evidently] by: WOLFF, OSKAR LUDWIG BERNHARD. (1799-1851). The German Jewish improvisator, humorist, poet and novelist; who arranged for Karl Marx to receive his doctorate in absenntia in 1841; and was a friend of Henrich Heine, Liszt, Wagner and others. One page, octavo, lacy embossed edges. No date. The poem consists of 5 stanzas of 8 lines each, and is signed by Wolff at the conclusion. A simply choice combination of associations that also bear a fine signature of Andersen.
