BOOKER T. WASHINGTON ~~ HIS LECTURING SCHEDULE FOR 1905

WASHINGTON, BOOKER T.  (1856-1915) Black American educator.  Typed Letter Signed, “Booker T. Washington”, on his name imprinted Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute/ For the training of Colored Young Men and Women letterhead.  One full page, quarto.  Tuskegee, Alabama, March 31, 1905.  To Mr. Ellis Robb, Eldora, Iowa.   Minor paperclip stain, else near fine condition.  Washington writes:

“I can make no definite promise in the matter, but I will plan to make a trip to the West sometime during the month of August and shall be very glad to keep the cordial invitation you extend to appear in your lecture course in mind.  I am referring your letter to Reverend Bedford…the Secretary of our Board of Trustees who very kindly consents to arrange my Western engagements.  Yours truly,  Booker T.
