WEBSTER, DANIEL (1782-1852)  American statesman; Secretary of State.   Attractive Autograph Letter Signed, “Danl. Webster”, as Secretary of State, in Millard Fillmore’s administration.   One page,  small square quarto.  “Washington.”  March 14, 1851. To “My Dear Sir.”  Webster writes:

“My dear Sir, it is my present purpose to go to Harrisburg, next Monday, to stay there until Wednesday morning & then proceed to Philadelphia. I have some business which is rather pressing, at N. York & whether I shall be able to make any stay in Philadelphia till my return from the North may be a little uncertain. Yrs Always truly Danl. Webster.”
