MILLARD FILLMORE 

 SIGNATURE ON A NAVAL APPOINTMENT FRAGMENT, SIGNED AS PRESIDENT

FILLMORE, MILLARD. (1800-74).  Thirteenth President of the United States.  The right-hand portion of a Naval appointment Signed, “Millard Fillmore”, as President and countersigned by WILLIAM GRAHAM, as Secretary of the Navy.    One page, quarto, vellum. [approximately 6 x 8 inches].  Washington, DC,  March 11, 1851.    Fillmore puts his signature to an appointment for a midshipman.

Fine condition as seen in illustration.  This Fillmore offers a “little more” than just a plain cut signature, and being dated AS PRESIDENT, makes it a fine addition to any collection of US Presidents.
