PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 1864Â ~~Â ELECTORAL UNION ‘TICKET’
[PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 1864]. The 1864 United States presidential election was the 20th presidential election. [Tuesday, November 8, 1864]. Near the end of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln of the National Union Party defeated the Democratic nominee, former General George B. McClellan, by a margin of 212–21 in the electoral college, obtaining 55% of the popular vote. This ‘ticket’ represents those electors for Lincoln and Johnson, evidently from the state of Ohio. One page, narrow tall octavo [approximately 3 x 6 ½ inches]. The recto states: “Union Presidential Ticket” with a list of names under “FOR PRESIDENT / ABRAHAM LINCOLN / of Illinois, / for VICE PRESIDENT / ANDREW JOHNSON of Tennessee”.  The verso, printed in blue, has American flags. Old glue stains in margin, as seen, else near fine condition.  A scarce piece of presidential electoral Americana.
