
MENACHEM BEGIN ARRANGES TO BE INTERVIEWED BY LAWRENCE SPIVAK ~ “ON MEET THE PRESS”
[JUDAICA] BEGIN, MENACHEM. (1913-1992). Israeli Prime Minister (1977-1983), who in 1979 signed the first peace treaty between Israel and an Arab country (Egypt). Uncommon Typed Letter Signed, “M. Begin”, on his imprinted official stationery. One page, large octavo. Tel-Aviv, March 12, 1974. Staple holes in left, blank margin, and multiple pencil notations / dockets by Spivak, else very fine condition. Accompanied by original envelope addressed to “Mr. Lawrence Spivak, 2660 Woodley Road, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20008, U.S.A.”, with postal cancellations. Begin writes:
“Dear Mr. Spivak, You have asked me to inform you about my visit to the United States in connection with the possibility of participating in the Meet the Press programm [sic]. I have been invited by the Israeli Bonds Organization to visit several cities between April the 28th and May the 6th. My friend Mr. Borah Shnaider at the Bonds head office will have my schedule and itineraring [sic]. With my best regards, Yours sincerely, M. Begin”.
