A SUPERB BACK-TO-BACK LINCOLN-HAMLIN 1860 CAMPAIGN FERROTYPE JUGATE

[LINCOLN 1860 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN].  A remarkable relic from the 1860 Presidential campaign.  A 15/16 inch [holed as made] brass ‘button’ with the brass rims bearing the candidates’ names and the 1860 date. The Lincoln image is what DeWitt calls Lincoln photo #3. The Lincoln ferrotype has minor gray spotting on its surface seen at 10 and 11 o’clock in background. Very minor light surface wear in reflected light, otherwise fine. The Hamlin ferrotype is way above average and has bold contrast with a few faint scratches seen only in reflected light that are mentioned for strict accuracy. DeWITT 1860-96.  Both sides retain watery sheen in reflected light. Overall very fine condition, with the Hamlin side being just about as good as they come.
