McKINLEY, WILLIAM. (1843-1901) 25th President of the United States; assassinated. His bold signature, “William McKinley,” penned on an Executive Mansion, Washington imprinted card. Mounting trace on verso, else fine condition. Accompanied by a letter on Executive Mansion stationery, signed by J.A. Porter, Secretary to President McKinley, sending the card, along with the original mailing envelope. Addressed to: ‘Mr. A.R. Hassard, in Toronto, Canada’. Circular postal cancellations: ‘Dec 30 / 6PM / 1899 and Washington / DC’ with red 2 cent George Washington stamp affixed. It is rare today to find the Executive Mansion Card, original mailing envelope and transmittal letter remaining all together. A much above average grouping for the serious collector of White House / Executive Mansion cards.
