STRAVINSKY’S
“APOLLON MUSAGETE”

STRAVINSKY, IGOR.  (1882-1971).  Russian composer.  Choice Autograph Musical Quotation Signed, “Igor Stravinsky, Dusseldorf, December II-[19]30”.  Stravinsky has penned four bars from his “Apollon Musagete” on a small octavo card and identified it in his hand.  Excellent condition.       

Apollon Musagete is a neoclassical ballet written between 1927 and 1928 by Stravinsky. It was choreographed in 1928 by twenty-four-year-old George Balanchine, with the composer contributing the libretto.  Any quotation from within a year or two of the creation of the composition is highly desirable.
