NAPOLEON BONAPARTE — AS COMMANDER GENERAL OF THE ARMY OF THE INTERIOR, APPOINTS A LIEUTENANT IN THE LEGION OF POLICE

BONAPARTE, NAPOLEON (1769-1821).   French military and political leader. A choice and very displayable Partially-printed Document Signed, “Bonaparte,” on Republic Francais  letterhead.  One full page, quarto.   Paris, 4th year of the Republic [1795].  The printed heading of the document reads: “Armee Republique Francaise /  Libert / Egalite /  BUONAPARTE, General en Chef de l”Armee”.  Napoleon writes: 

“ Bonaparte, Commanding General of the Army of the Interior To Citizen I.B. Louis Morin I hereby inform you, Citizen, that by force of the law that puts me in charge of the organization of the Legion of the Police, I have temporarily promoted you to the poste of S. Lieutenant in this corps. Present yourself to the [?] last brigade who will indicate the place you are to occupy. Bonaparte.”

A very fine, very displayable document bearing a fine signature of Bonaparte.

Louis Morin Je vous parviens, citoyen, que confirmant à la loi qui me charge de l’organitation de la Légion, de Police, je vous ai nommé provisoirement à une place de S. Lieutenant dans ce corps. Vous vous présenterez au [?] de la p.e derniere Brigade qui l’on indiquera la place que vous devez occuper. Bonaparte
