BONAPARTE, NAPOLEON (1769-1821). French military and political leader. A choice and very displayable Partially-printed Document Signed, “Bonaparte,” on Republic Francais letterhead. One full page, quarto. Paris, 4th year of the Republic [1795]. The printed heading of the document reads: “Armee Republique Francaise / Libert / Egalite / BUONAPARTE, General en Chef de l”Armee”. Napoleon writes:
“ Bonaparte, Commanding General of the Army of the Interior To Citizen I.B. Louis Morin I hereby inform you, Citizen, that by force of the law that puts me in charge of the organization of the Legion of the Police, I have temporarily promoted you to the poste of S. Lieutenant in this corps. Present yourself to the [?] last brigade who will indicate the place you are to occupy. Bonaparte.”
