LALIQUE, RENÉ. (1860-1945). French jeweler and glassmaker whose products were some of the most characteristic and popular works of the art nouveau movement. Uncommon Autograph Letter Signed, “Lalique”, in French, on his imprinted 40, Cours-La-Reine stationery. One full page, octavo. Paris, no date. Very fine condition. To “Monsieur le Duc de Massa”. Lalique writes:
“Would you permit me to offer you as an homage this little flower in remembrance of my visit at Francoville, and of the gracious welcome I received. It is an interpretation of one of the marvelous plants you sacrificed for me, but how inferior is the model. Believe in me, Monsieur le Duc, Yours very respectfully, Lalique”.
