BEER ADVERTISING. [CUSTER’S LAST STAND]. A rather remarkable
full-color lithograph advertising item from the Anheuser-Busch Corporation,
being a 42 ½ x 32 inch depiction of the Battle of the Little
Big Horn, as Custer is surrounded Indians, in his last dying moments.
Entitled “Custer’s Last Fight,” this large ad was
based upon an idea that Adolphus Busch originally conceived in 1888,
after seeing Cassilly Adams version of “Custer’s Last
Fight,” that measured 16 feet 5 inches by 9 feet 6 inches, and
that was painted on a wagon canvas for a traveling exhibit.
